The Albany-Dougherty Inner City Authority is a legislative act established the said authority as a public body corporate and politic and as an instrumentality of the State of Georgia under House Bill 573 on March 11, 1977 as amended by House Bill 1243. The Authority has been created for the purpose of revitalization and redevelopment of the project area for any commercial, business, office, public, or other use determined by the members of the Authority to further the redevelopment of the project areas.
